Gainsborough to host opening night of international chamber music festvial
The festival’s joint artistic directors, pianist Ashley Wass and violinist Matthew Trusler have put together an eclectic programme using individual artists as well as festival regulars Trio Apaches, who will be joined this year by the French/Israeli String Quartet and The Salome String Quartet amongst others.
The festival opens at Gainsborough Old Hall on Wednesday, July 25 with a full chamber concert by Trio Apaches.

Hide AdOn Thursday, July 26, cellist Thomas Carroll present an evening of Bach at All Saints Church in Branston.
The festival moves on to the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa on Friday, July 27 for a special event.
As part of the commemorations of both the end of the WWI and the centenary of the Royal Air Force, there will be a presentation of For The Fallen, which comprises ten of the most powerful poems about war and remembrance, combined with pieces of music chosen and performed by Ashley Wass and Matthew Trusler, while actor Richard Maine will be reciting the poems.
Saturday, July 28 features a recital by the Salome Quartet at St Mary The Virgin church at Frampton.

Hide AdAnd the festival closes on Sunday, July 29 with a concert at the County Assembly Rooms in Lincoln.
