THE CONINGSBY and District Flower, Produce and Craft Show was held in Coningsby Hall on Saturday September 13.
There were charity stalls set up outside the hall and the Royal British Legion won the Bill Edgar Memorial Rose Bowl for best presented stall.
Inside the hall various scarecrows - on an alien theme - were on show and the winner was made by the Conin
gsby and Tattershall WI, second was the Scarecrow Alliance and third was youngsters from Youthworx.
A new competition this year for a painting in any medium was won by Sue Limb, Derek Warner came second and Ros Rickard third.
Colourful displays of vegetables, fruit, flowers, cookery and crafts displayed in the hall were admired by the many visitors during the afternoon.
The children's classes were especially well-supported.
Trophies were presented to all the winners of the different sections and then an auction took place to raise funds towards next year's Show. The afternoon finished with the Grand Raffle.
Results: Trophies were awarded as follows: John Ward won the Russell Green Trophy for Vegetable and Fruit, R Wilkinson won the Sivill Trophy for Best Vegetable with his pair of cucumbers, William Pickwell won the George Taylor Trophy for Flowers and also the Maurice Pinion Trophy for the Best Exhibit in Flower section with his cactus dahlia, Connie Stennett won the Maddison Trophy for Baking and Preserves, Maezie Ball and Elsie Ball were joint winners of the Mo Hawkins Trophy. Children's Classes aged five and under: Alice Farrow won the Judy Dawson Trophy aged six-10 years, Hannah Crooks won the Jubilee Lodge Shield aged 11-15 years. Lorna Curtis won the CL Bembridge Trophy for floral art, Catherine Carter and Joan Roseveare were joint winners of the Lillian Barrack Memorial Trophy, Sue Limb won the Painting competition.
Coningsby and Tattershall WI won the Scarecrow competition, William Pickwell won the Millennium Trophy for most points in the show, Coningsby and Tattershall and District RBL won the Bill Edgar Rose Bowl for the Best Dressed Stall.
