YOUNG people from Coningsby's Youthworx group have written this report about the grand opening of the new children's play garden, which was designed and made by the Young Parents Group.

Parents, who had been working on a play garden for more than a year, were pleased to have it opened by the Mayor of Coningsby, Coun Paddy Donnellan, deputy mayor Coun Ruth Sharples and town clerk Kathy Roberts.
The young parents had built a sandpit, a vegetable garden, and laid down bark in the garden.
They applied for a grant from the Youth Opportunity Fund which paid for all the play equipment including a swing, slide and playhouse. At the opening they had a cake and a toy stall which raised more than £39 towards the group's funds.
At the opening the young parents were also awarded their Millennium Volunteers Certificates by Coun Betty Harvey from Lincolnshire County Council. They were presented to Sarah Hall, Andrew Hall, Chris Midgley, Emily Atkinson and Michaela Hannay.
The young parents also entered their pumpkin in the Coningsby Show and won first prize, while their scarecrow won third prize.
