SEVEN young players from Horncastle's Banovallum Brass band are celebrating exam successes this year.
Learning music with the brass band on a Saturday morning and playing in senior and junior bands, these young musicians have worked, and played, hard to achieve super results.

"All these young players, except Alexandra and Rebecca, have weekly lessons with Banovallum Brass," said Rachel Bourn, who leads the team of volunteer teachers from the band.

Rachel said: "Alexandra and Rebecca started learning with us but both progressed so well we passed them on to a professional teacher who could take them further than we could."

Find out more about the brass band on their new website: http://banovallumbrass.terapad.com

Results: Alex Reed: Grade 3 cornet (pass), Emily Bourn: Grade 4 trombone (distinction), Jenn Watts: Grade 4 cornet (distinction), Ewan Hannam: Grade 4 cornet (merit), James Whalley: Grade 5 baritone (merit), Alexandra Grau: Grade 8 cornet (distinction), Rebecca Abernethy: Grade 8 cornet.
