EDITOR - Well I never!
Horncastle has been judged the Best Kept Small town title for the second year running.
If it was 'Best Town' title I could understand it, as Horncastle is a lovely place with many things to recommend it.
But best kept? That's a surprise.
I know many people take care and we have exceptionally hard-working groups like Rivercare.
But many do not and how do we tackle that problem?
I (quite gently) squared up a lad at the High Street bus shelter last week for dropping a sweet wrapper. He picked it up and binned it and looked a bit abashed.
I have to say I thought afterwards I'd taken a foolish risk - especially as two other passersby actually said they thought I was brave.
