Adrian is a cut above the rest - once again!
Adrian, 55, from Covenham St Mary, took his Old English Sheepdog, Lexi, along to The Grooming Show which was held at the Britannia Royal Court Hotel in Coventry on January 31.
Adrian and Lexi took part in the ‘advanced’ group of the Pure Breed Scissor class, in front of a judging panel made up of the British Grooming Team.

Their advanced class victory also earned the pair qualification into the overall grand final of the competition, where the 130 entrants on the day were whittled down to just 15 individual class winners.
However, Adrian and Lexi missed out on the top two prizes by just a whisker, with the all-star judging panel later commenting that if there had been a third place prize it would have been rightfully deserved by Adrian and Lexi.
Adrian was pleased with their success on the day, and said: “I was very surprised that we got as far as we did.” But he conceded that Lexi’s coat probably needed to have grown a little more if the pair were to be in with a chance of winning the grand final.

Adrian rescued her at the age of nine months, after she had already been housed - and then returned- at two previous homes.
If Lexi had not settled with Adrian and his family, it is likely that she would have been put down.
Adrian said: “She has come on superbly, she’s not a problem at all any more.

Adrian’s success at The Grooming Show is yet another in his cap, having previously won top prizes at the British Dog Grooming Championships and the Northern Groomers competition, among others.
