Mayor of Sleaford, Coun David Suiter, who has been developing the event with fellow councillors, said: “It’s something new and of course if it is a success I would expect the following mayor to have such an event.”
The day will include such attractions as fair rides, a bouncy castle, stalls, a climbing wall, hook-a-duck, face painting, a puppet show, stocks, balloon modelling, food stalls, an ice cream van, candy floss, sweets, a chip van, a burger van, licensed bar, live entertainment including Morris dancers and duck races at 1.30pm and 3pm.
The chosen charities have yet to be decided, but will be announced before the event.

Hide AdCoun Suiter says he is taking a fluid approach to deciding on good causes to benefit from his year in office, where each event will have a different charity allocated to it.
“What I’m trying to do is help the smaller ones,” he said. “We have got a lot of smaller charities and community groups where a couple of hundred pounds makes a difference.”
