Cooking up support for veterans

“The effort Eve and Shaun have put in for us is fantastic,” said Michael Kenning, who organised the event along with fellow veteran Martin Hare.

“We couldn’t have wished for anything better; it is everything we wanted it to be.”

Former service personnel of all ages came from a wide area to the event to enjoy some good food and, more importantly, time with like-minded people.

Also at the breakfast was town mayor John Matthews and Del Hardman, who started the first veterans’ breakfast club, Barkers in Hull.

“This is a great turnout for the first session - any club would be proud of this,” he said.
