At a meeting of the town council, councillors made the decision that they could not pick a single Citizen of the Year.
Instead they have decided to thank all key workers for the service they have given during this difficult time. They also wanted to thank all those that have abided by social distancing rules and have stuck by the government’s guidance.

Hide AdTown councillors specifically thanked organisations and individuals in Gainsborough who have gone the extra mile or supported members of the community during this difficult time. They are John Coupland Hospital, care homes including Clayton House, Ferndene, Foxby Court, Foxby Hill Care Home Ltd, Drovers Call, Middlefield House, and Serenity House, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons and Tesco, Affordable Foods, Disability Network, Feeding Gainsborough, Think2Speak, Lizzie Jordan, The Salvation Army as well as Lynne Clayton, Anne Cunningham, Caroline Davies, Katie Davies, Harry Ferguson, Richard Kane, Julie Masonda, Trudi Oliver, Caroline Ralf, Steve Ralf, Joshua Plastow and Ben St John.
Coun Baptiste Velan, chairman of the community s ervices c ommittee of Gainsborugh Town C ouncil, said: “We have highlighted a few individuals and organisations for special recognition for the role they have played or the work they have done.
" T he list could have been a lot longer.”
