Hide AdDavid, who will turn 51 the day after the marathon, has completed seven years of service in the RAF and is now a civilian aircraft engineer.
He said: “After much deliberation on a costume we finally agreed on a giant poppy which we think will gain massive support in London and as ever put a smile on people’s faces. I haven’t quite worked out how I will run 26 miles in this costume, it will be a real challenge. However I will be doing a test run the week before when I will run the Lincoln 10k in it.”
