Worksop: Residents believe speed limit near Darfoulds Nursery is putting lives at risk
Homeowners on the A619, which leads to Darfoulds Nursery, say the 50mph limit should be reduced to 30mph.
Locals have told the Guardian that it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.

Hide AdJohn Thompson, 74, said: “They come flying down that road.”
“It is very dangerous to pull out from Darfoulds Nursery.”
“There have been a few accidents on the road down the years.”
“It is very dangerous to walk on pavements.”
“Because it is a 50mph, a lot of people go 60mph, I think it should be made a 30mph limit.”
John, who has been married for 51 years, also said that a 20mph speed limit should be put in place on approach roads to the A57 Millhouse roundabout when motorists are within 100 metres of the roundabout.

Hide Ad“This would eliminate dangerous, fast moving vehicles and improve traffic flow,” John added.
“It is spiralling out of control.”
Following John’s concerns, the Guardian contacted residents within the area who also have concerns about the A619 speed limit.
Glyn Lewis, 75, of High Park, said: ”It is a death trap.”
“I have lived here for 34 years and it has always been like this.”
“People just are not aware it is a blind spot, I think it should be 30mph.”

Rebecca Doyle, 26, who is a shop assistant at Darfoulds Nursery and travels along the road everyday, said: “It can very dangerous.”
“There are a lot of elderly people living closeby so it is not good for them.”
