TOWN dominated proceedings in their first league win this season and could have won by a bigger margin.
Town started brightly but it was Cleethorpes who almost took a surprise lead after 15 minutes when a speculative effort came back off the crossbar with Burchnall beaten.

Town then took control of the game with Ollie Johnson and Jackson dominant in midfield.

The defensive line of Smith, Marshall, Chris Johnson and Cooling were rarely troubled as Town pushed forward.

Harness drew a fine save from the Cleethorpes' keeper as Town pressed but they had to wait until 10 minutes before the break to open their account.

A good move down the left ended with a fine cross from Low that was headed past the home keeper by Cleethorpes' centre half.

Harness doubled Town's lead after the break with a fine finish and minutes later he broke clear but his effort was saved by the keeper with Gordon unlucky to see his follow up shot cleared off the line.

But the impressive Harness was not to be denied and he drilled home a low shot from the edge of the box on the hour to effectively finish the game as a contest.

Gordon scored Town's fourth as he ran on to a fine ball from Edwards before rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into the unguarded net.

With only seconds remaining, Burchnall pulled off an outstanding triple save in Town's goal but the ball fell kindly for Cleethorpes who pulled a late goal back for the home side.

* On Saturday Town travel to Louth United who trounced them at The Wong on the opening day of the season.
