For fog's sake! Boston United's match at Witton Albion abandoned at half time
You could argue it was a let off for the Pilgrims, who were trailing 1-0 to a team two divisions below them, but manager Dennis Greene disagreed.
He said: “The game was still in the balance and there to be won,

Thick fog engulfed the stadium two hours before kick off, but referee Banjamin Speedie said he was happy for the match to be played, and he was half right.
Boston made three changes to the side which was thrashed 9-2 at AFC Fylde a week earlier, Michael Emery replacing Dion-Curtis Henry in goal after the teenager was recalled to ease Peterborough United’s keeper injury problems, only for Posh’s game to be postponed.
The other two changes saw debuts handed out to York City loanees Josh Robinson and Ben Clappison.

Bradley Bauress burst down the left and played a simple low pass across the face of goal, where Rob Hopley ghosted in to slot beyond Emery.
Witton’s early pressure failed to bring any more goalmouth action, Bauress getting the better of Joe Robinson, shunted out to right back, but failing to keep himself onside.
The Albs suffered a 25th-minute blow as captain Paul Williams left on a stretcher, being replaced by Ryan Hickman.

The finals five minutes of the opening half saw Witton up the ante, Emery getting down well to tip away Matthew Devins’ long ranger which was skipping off the sodden turf, and Nat Brown poking away Hopley’s dangerous pass along the goalline.
But that was that, the two sides returning to do it all again on Tuesday.
