Ruskington bowlers endure mixed fortunes
Tony Codd with Keith Pilbeam and Trevor Thackray won 20-14, and David Miller with Kath Booth and Graham Croft won 19-13, but Waylon Clarke with Paul Butterworth and George Glover went down 9-25, so the aggregate was lost and Ruskington came home with four league points.
* The club then hosted Bardney in the first round of the Hospitals Cup.

Les Warren’s set of Les Wilkinson and Graham Croft drew 19-all, but Jim Matson with Trevor Thackray and Linda Picton lost 10-22, and despite being given two shots on handicap, Ruskington lost overall by two.
* Bristol Club visited for a Woodhall Spa League match last Wednesday.
Tony Codd with Carol Croft and Isabel Drain lost 13-20, and Wendy Pateman’s set of Colin Pawson, playing his first game, and Paul Butterworth lost 8-27.

Hide AdLes Jenkins with Eddie Yeates and Les Warren redressed the balance a little with a big 26-9 win, but Ruskington gained only two points.
* Ruskington made a good start to their Cliff League campaign with 10 points against Lee Road.
Les Warren with Keith Pilbeam and Linda Picton were convincing 25-9 winners, balanced by John Booth’s set of Les Wilkinson and David Miller who lost 14-21.
George Glover’s set of John Hurst and Jim Barclay also lost 12-15, but Tony Codd with Paul Shelley and Jim Matson ran riot and finished 32-6 to the good, allowing their opponents only three end wins.

Hide Ad* Monks Road WMC was Ruskington’s next destination, for an afternoon City League match.
On a green the club always dread, they secured one win, by David Miller’s set of Jackie Ray and Jim Matson who edged it 16-15.
Les Jenkins, with Isabel Drain and Jim Barclay, lost 11-24, and Tony Codd’s set of Les Wilkinson and Graham Croft lost 11-22, as only two points were earned.
* Last of the week’s fixtures was at home to Heckington in the Coningsby League.
