PUPILS at Donington on Bain Primary School have been creating their own original works of art with the help of a professional artist.
Textiles artist Sue Lancaster was at the school working with years 5 and 6 pupils.

The Sheffield-based artist visited Lincolnshire recently to take part in an exhibition at St Andrew's Church in Donington on Bain called Connecting Threads.

She found the time to visit the local primary school to guide artistic youngsters through various creations.
Using the Lincolnshire Wolds as inspiration, the class employed a wide range of techniques such as dying, stitching and assembling to make their artworks.

Class teacher Chris Hibbins was delighted with the enthusiasm, quality of work and, above all, the pure enjoyment which was evident all day.

"The children gained valuable experience, exploring different materials and working with a professional. They created work to be proud of," she said.
"They especially enjoyed using a special compound which magically changed a flat image into a 3D one when the heat was applied. The results were stunning."
