CHURCHES – The Rev Ian McGrath, rector of the Parish of the Asterby Group, is inviting people to become involved with Operation Christmas Child by ensuring plenty of shoeboxes are filled with gifts ready to be delivered to impoverished children across the globe .

LIBRARY – The new rota of mobile visits provided by the Library Service no longer includes a stop at the village school.
The mobile now makes
four-weekly stops outside the village post office on
Tuesdays from 1.15pm to
2.15pm and the next visits are scheduled for September 23 and October 21.
TREES – Anyone wishing to have a share of the free trees and hedging plants available through the free tree scheme should contact the clerk to the council on 01673 858451 or email clerktodobpc@yahoo.co.uk.
