FORMER England manager Graham Taylor will be the guest speaker at a charity dinner at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa.
Mr Taylor, who once managed Lincoln City FC, will entertain guests at the fundraiser for the Oasis project, a charity that supports the families and carers of people with drug and alcohol problems, on Thursday, October 30, from 7pm.
Tickets are stil
l available for the black tie three course dinner from numerous outlets in the village or by calling 01526 352314.
Terry Walter, of Woodhall Spa, founded Oasis eight years ago and bumped into Mr Taylor on holiday.
When she returned she called his office and was delighted when he said he would support the charity.
Mr Taylor enjoyed great success as manager of Watford in the early 1980s but was vilified by the press in the 1992 European Championships when the Sun launched its infamous Turnip campaign.
He is now a regular pundit on BBC Radio 5 Live and has a column in the Daily Telegraph.
Mrs Walter said Oasis is the only charity of its kind in Lincolnshire and volunteers, who have all had personal experience of family members suffering through drug and alcohol misuse, staff a 24 hour helpline.
As well as the help line it has an office in Lincoln and drop-in venues across Lincolnshire.
  • If you feel you need help call the helpline on 07900 013041 or if you can help in any way call 01522 523581.
