'LOTS of laughter and a terrific sense of humour' is the secret behind a long lasting marriage according to a couple from Woodhall Spa.
Sixty years have passed since James and Audrey Horner tied the knot at the Nether Congregational Church in their home city of Sheffield on September 4, 1948.
Their diamond wedding anniversary was celebrated with a family lunch at the Village Limits and the couple were delighted to receive a card with congratulations from the Queen. James and Audrey met while working at the Midland Bank in Sheffield.
Audrey left the Midland after marrying but James stayed on to clock up 40 years with the bank until his retirement.
His career saw the couple move to Derbyshire and London and they eventually moved to Woodhall Spa 22 years ago.
They had two children, James and Ann, and now have two grandchildren.
