WOODHALL Spa WI welcomed Angela Warne as their speaker for the September meeting.
Members were treated to a delight of sweets and desserts, all to be sampled.
There was much oohing and comments such as, 'you must try this one', as one and all tucked in.
This was the second foodie event for the club as Joan Daniels had won a tri
p to Dickinson and Morris, the pork pie makers in Melton Mowbray.
While there members donned hats and aprons and had soon fashioned some very respectable looking pies.
They were then treated to a light buffet with wine.
The pies were baked and brought to Woodhall Spa the next day - and the verdict was scrumptious.
Patricia Duke-Cox was complimented on the excellent article and photograph which appeared in the September edition of the WI Life magazine.
Patricia had taken up croquet at a WI event and is now vice chairman of the Croquet Association.
The competition for four identical sweets was won by Anne Fuller, Sue Lonsdale and Eileen Herrod.
Members are advised to book their seats on the shopping trip to Norwich on October 21 as seats are going fast.
The next meeting on October 13 brings Sue Stephenson and Puddle Paddock from Gedney. 7.30pm at St. Peter's Hall, visitors always welcome.
